2.Background and objectives
The Laboratory of Behavioral Physiology conducts research to elucidate how everyday behaviors and lifestyle habits, such as diet, nutrition, and physical activity, contribute to health and the development of diseases. Our work also aims to clarify the interactions between these lifestyle factors and genetic factors, as well as gut microbiota, to propose personalized behavior and lifestyle recommendations for health promotion. Additionally, we strive to identify risk factors for malnutrition and frailty in high-risk individuals and build evidence to support the prevention of severe health outcomes.
3. Overview of our research
I. The study of preventing and improving lifestyle-related diseases and frailty We are building evidence to support the prevention and improvement of lifestyle-related diseases and frailty using large-scale cohort data. Specifically, our research focuses on: 1) clarifying the role of diet and nutrition in chronic inflammation-based and age-related diseases, and 2) comprehensively evaluating lifestyle factors, such as diet and physical activity, to elucidate their impact on these conditions.II.
